Removing and Storing Ink Cartridges

You typically store cartridges when you want to use a different ink set (and therefore different cartridges) and need to store the existing cartridges for future use. This procedure explains how to remove, store and reuse cartridges. Following this procedure will extend the life of your cartridges and prevent ink from leaking from the cartridges.
Note: If you lay down a cartridge with ink in it, lay it on its front side so that the flex contacts face up. This prevents ink from leaking out either the top opening or out the jet area on the bottom. Do not touch the flex contact area of the cartridge.
